Dear Capt. Ken: We are at the dock in Hilton Head, SC after a wonderful day traveling south on the Intracoastal. We will be in the Palm Beach, FL area sometime next week and will be staying until the end of the month to attend the boat show there. We have followed, and enjoyed, your writings in the boating magazines for years and would just like to say that we have a copy of your new POWERBOATING book on board and find your style of writing makes it a very interesting read. The information, even for experienced boaters, is something everyone who is living the lifestyle, or is thinking of getting into boating, will enjoy. The anecdotal stories are quite enjoyable and add lots of depth to the subject matter. We especially liked the portion dealing with the filthiest engine room ever. As well, your photography is just right for each subject you cover. Keep up the good work and perhaps we will get to meet you at Palm Beach. Thanks again.

DSC04181As we have for the past several years, it was a pleasure catching up with you at the 2016 Ft. Lauderdale boat show. We left a few days later for Grand Bahama and snapped this picture of the rising Supermoon. We had a great evening aboard with all our friends. Saw your live Facebook feed on the Evo 43 and enjoyed it very much. Hope to see you at Miami. Thanks for all the informative, interesting, and entertaining work you have done. -J. & E. Scott, Hollywood, FL

Capt. Ken- To all those who have shared their photographs with you, we would like to contribute this one. It was taken on a lovely night on the Intracoastal Waterway as we were on the hook in a protected cove on our way down to the Florida Keys. We had just passed Beaufort, North Carolina, and, with night falling, decided not to go on. It was a good decision as we had a wonderful dinner aboard and sat up for an extra hour or two. It was so beautiful and made even more so as soon as the full moon came out from behind the clouds. It’s these kind of moments that are so special to us and we are sure, to all who enjoy the boating lifestyle. –B & A Kauffman, Savannah, GA

Ahoy there Captain Ken! I know I haven’t sent in a picture in a long time but with school and other things, I’ve been pretty busy. Here is one my parents liked. We took it near our home here in Riviera Beach, Florida. We were walking along the beach on our way to a family dinner and I looked up into the sky and saw this cloud. I thought it looked like a sea horse so I took out my iPhone and…well, here it is. I hope you like it. If I see any other interesting things, I will also take a picture of it too. Goodbye for now!-Alicia M., Riviera Beach, FL

Hey Capt. Ken, enjoyed catching up with you at this past Ft. Lauderdale boat show. Good to see you again. We are on our way back from our trip through the Abacos and took this sunset shot for your Photo Op section. Hope our paths cross again as we will be cruising up north late in May and are planning a stop over in New York City before we head to New England waters including Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, Mt. Desert, Maine, and then up into Nova Scotia. Either way, going to or coming from, we’ll be sure to look you up. – D. and M. Smith, Chicago, IL

Capt. Ken: We are on our way back north from spending the winter in South Florida and, knowing our home port weather is still not very good, are taking it very slow aboard our 60 foot Hatteras Motor Yacht. Currently staying at the Jekyll Harbor Marina in Georgia, we are enjoying the sights, the food, the golf, and meeting up with friends and family. Our plan is to stop at Tybee, Hilton Head, and Charleston for a few days each, maybe longer, before pushing on. Have enjoyed your articles over the years in the boating magazines as well as your video work. Most entertaining and informative. Your site is also very good and would ask that you post more of your creative work. Both the SALTY LIFE and LITERARY CORNER writings are worthy of attention. We were walking our dog the other morning and noticed the light fog hanging in the midst of a nearby wooded area. I always have my camera with me when we travel and after loading the photos on my laptop, I thought you might like it enough to share it here on your site. Thanks again for all your efforts. -J. and L. Banks, Cape May, NJ

–A. Vincenti, San Remo, Italia

(My dear Capt. Ken: I met you and your lovely family some time ago in the town of Deia on Palma de Mallorca. We had a wonderful dinner there and you were most kind with some advice to my husband and myself with a small problem on our boat. We were recently looking on the Internet and discovered your site and the beautiful photos many of your readers were sharing with you. Please accept this one as a memory of our time there and in hopes that one day we may once again share a dinner, some wine, and good stories about our travels. Best regards to you and your family. -A. Vincenti, San Remo, Italy)

A stroll along the beach resulted in this picture. I found it interesting to note all the textures, patterns, and materials present: the weathered and whorled wood; the rusting iron; the rocks; the sand, all being impacted on by nature and all showing different results. Your blog is most attractive for those of us who are into the boating lifestyle and I would assume, many who just happen to find the site. I am sure all these pictures reach across the interest level as well. Your featured image here–the vintage camera–is also quite creative. Thanks for your years of outstanding writing with the magazines and now, for this most informative site.

My friends and I have been following your postings and are really enjoying all the personal photographs that are being sent in. I thought you might find this one interesting: We are regulars in the waters off of Carbon Beach in Malibu and with the wind and surf down a bit, decided to take a break. I snapped off this shot and hope you and everybody else checking in, likes it. –J. ‘Gus’ Medwick, Carbon Beach, Malibu, CA

Choices. Sometimes easier to make than others. Take my dilemma with this situation. Should I surf or swim? For me, either way, I win. Keep up the excellent work here. I am enjoying your postings and look forward to each one. No choice. I will be back. Good onya mate! –K. Morse, Bondi Beach, Australia
