Dear Captain Ken: Our time here in South Florida is almost up and we are preparing to head our boat north for Virginia Beach with planned visits to the Chesapeake, Jersey Shore, and the New York City area later on in the summer. It was a pleasure meeting you at both Ft. Lauderdale and Miami boat shows. Here is a picture we snapped at our marina during a lovely sunset. We so love our traveling and boating lifestyle if just for these moments. But of course, there are so many more. All the best!

Dear Capt. Ken: We are at the dock in Hilton Head, SC after a wonderful day traveling south on the Intracoastal. We will be in the Palm Beach, FL area sometime next week and will be staying until the end of the month to attend the boat show there. We have followed, and enjoyed, your writings in the boating magazines for years and would just like to say that we have a copy of your new POWERBOATING book on board and find your style of writing makes it a very interesting read. The information, even for experienced boaters, is something everyone who is living the lifestyle, or is thinking of getting into boating, will enjoy. The anecdotal stories are quite enjoyable and add lots of depth to the subject matter. We especially liked the portion dealing with the filthiest engine room ever. As well, your photography is just right for each subject you cover. Keep up the good work and perhaps we will get to meet you at Palm Beach. Thanks again.

As we have for the past several years, it was a pleasure catching up with you at the 2016 Ft. Lauderdale boat show. We left a few days later for Grand Bahama and snapped this picture of the rising Supermoon. We had a great evening aboard with all our friends. Saw your live Facebook feed on the Evo 43 and enjoyed it very much. Hope to see you at Miami. Thanks for all the informative, interesting, and entertaining work you have done. -J. & E. Hey everybody, so sorry for the delay in getting new stuff up on a regular basis but I have been a bit sidetracked with a book project and lots of work that has kept me away from the site. Anyway, I have been getting new images from travelers far and wide and will begin to post them as we go forward. Thanks to all for the e-mails and nice messages for this particular category and keep the photos coming. – Capt. Ken
Capt. Ken: Snapped this picture of some local fishermen off of Sugar Beach on St. Lucia. Have enjoyed your postings on this site. Keep up the good work. Saw your live Facebook feed for Yachting Magazine from the Ft. Lauderdale boat show and enjoyed the review of the Evo 43. Glad to see you are still doing these projects and looking forward to more in the future. -G. & R. Hanse, Atlanta, GA
Capt. Ken- To all those who have shared their photographs with you, we would like to contribute this one. It was taken on a lovely night on the Intracoastal Waterway as we were on the hook in a protected cove on our way down to the Florida Keys. We had just passed Beaufort, North Carolina, and, with night falling, decided not to go on. It was a good decision as we had a wonderful dinner aboard and sat up for an extra hour or two. It was so beautiful and made even more so as soon as the full moon came out from behind the clouds. It’s these kind of moments that are so special to us and we are sure, to all who enjoy the boating lifestyle. –B & A Kauffman, Savannah, GA

Boo! Snapped this one on a recent visit to the Rybovich yard in West Palm Beach, Florida. Saw these big yachts all tented up and it looked to me as if a couple of nautical ghosts had taken up residence along the way here. We are really enjoying your postings. Keep up the good work and hope to see you on the docks at the upcoming Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show. –L. & B. Barnett, West Palm Beach, FL

As with several others who have posted their wonderful photographs on your site, we spent a couple of nights at your Chelsea Piers location in order to visit New York City. We made time to take in a Broadway show, stroll through Central Park, and partake in the myriad food offerings throughout the city including the famed Katz’s delicatessen on the Lower East Side. Of course, we tried to see as many of the tourist attractions as possible and made special time for the 9/11 Memorial. During our last night in town before moving on as we travel south to the Chesapeake Bay and our trip down the Intracoastal, eventually to spend some time in the Florida Keys, we had a lovely sunset dinner on our foredeck and snapped this picture for your posting. Thanks for the opportunity to share our boating experience.

Hello there Capt. Ken! We were coming into your home port of NYC and took this picture of the spectacular downtown area. We are on our way up to Canada and will be staying in your city for a week or so–we hear your 4th of July fireworks are really spectacular and are looking forward to getting a glimpse of them from our New Jersey-based docking space. Our traveling companions, as we do, are enjoying your postings and look forward to them. We really like your original writing; had quite a good time with your STAY SALTY story and hope you get your GREAT CORINTHIANS published. It is quite a well-written and engaging narrative so far. Thank you. –A. & N. Whitman, Virginia Beach, VA

Dear Capt. Ken: Having just completed a rather long voyage from our Texas, Gulf Coast-based home port through the Canal and Central America, and as we were intent on visiting some friends out on the west coast of California, we decided to join them for a road trip from the Los Angeles area up to the Napa wine country. Along the way, we made some very interesting stops; among them Santa Barbara, San Simeon, and this particular beach with, as you can readily see, lots of elephant seals. We kept our distance and most of the time, they ignored us; once in a while, lifting a head and sniffing in the air. Have enjoyed your varied postings and hope this picture is interesting enough for your Photo Op section. –H. & L. Williams, S. Padre Island, TX

Ahoy there Captain Ken! I know I haven’t sent in a picture in a long time but with school and other things, I’ve been pretty busy. Here is one my parents liked. We took it near our home here in Riviera Beach, Florida. We were walking along the beach on our way to a family dinner and I looked up into the sky and saw this cloud. I thought it looked like a sea horse so I took out my iPhone and…well, here it is. I hope you like it. If I see any other interesting things, I will also take a picture of it too. Goodbye for now!-Alicia M., Riviera Beach, FL
